In alignment with Pernod Ricard Nigeria’s sustainability goals, Jameson Irish Whiskey is set to eliminate its outer packaging. This strategic decision aims to cut down on waste and lower the brand’s carbon footprint by removing the carton casing traditionally used in its product branding.
The move will significantly reduce the consumption of paper and cardboard, leading to a more environmentally friendly packaging solution. By conserving natural resources and minimizing waste, Jameson reinforces its dedication to environmental stewardship.
Michael Ehindero, Managing Director of Pernod Ricard Nigeria, commented, “We are acutely aware of the environmental impact of our business operations. The removal of the carton is a testament to our commitment to environmental protection and sustainable practices. We continuously seek innovative ways to minimize our carbon footprint, enhance eco-friendly practices, and promote sustainable consumption.”
This initiative is a key component of Pernod Ricard Nigeria’s comprehensive sustainability strategy, which focuses on reducing energy use, waste, and emissions across all its brands.
