Popular Yoruba comic actress Ariyo Oluwakemisola Apesin, better known as Kemity, has opened up about why she has two children with different fathers, revealing a journey marked by tragedy and resilience.

In a heartfelt interview with Biola Bayo, Kemity explained that her first child’s father “disvirgined” her, but tragically died in a hotel after returning from Malaysia—leaving her a young widow while pregnant. She emphasized that it was never her intention to have children with different men, noting that even her own mother had all her kids with the same partner.

Kemity also shared how ignorance of her difficult past led to hurtful public judgement:

“People mock me because my kids are from different men… without knowing the story behind it”

Expressing compassion for women facing similar criticism, she offered prayers instead of judgement:

“I pray for single mothers who work hard to raise their kids… And to those who abuse people because they have kids with different fathers… let’s pray you go through the same thing we went through”
