A two-storey building has collapsed in Nomansland, Fagge Local Government Area, Kano State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the successful rescue of two others.
The collapse was caused by the overflow of a nearby waterway, which compromised the stability of the building. The Public Relations Officer for the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, confirmed to Daily Trust that the two rescued individuals have been taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Rescue operations are ongoing as efforts continue to manage the situation. Additionally, the Kano State Emergency Management Agency reported that recent flooding in the state has claimed 31 lives and destroyed 5,280 homes.
