A devastating fire has destroyed goods worth millions of naira at Oranyan Market in Ibadan, Oyo State. The incident, which razed 40 shops, has been described as a significant setback for the affected traders.
Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, expressed his concern over the incident, offering his support to the victims. Representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Alli assured the traders that he would continue to stand by them during this challenging time.
In his statement, Senator Alli urged relevant government agencies, individuals, and organizations to extend their support to those affected by the fire. He also called for a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident, stressing the importance of implementing preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
“I call on the relevant authorities to expedite the ongoing investigations to determine the cause of the fire and to ensure that adequate preventive measures are put in place to avoid a recurrence,” he said.
Senator Alli also urged the government to provide immediate assistance and relief to help the traders recover from their losses and rebuild their businesses.
