Kalu Aja, a financial analyst, has taken aim at those who doubted the success of the Dangote Refinery in producing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Nigeria.

Aja expressed his views in a brief statement on his X account on Tuesday, responding to the news of the refinery’s petrol rollout.

He highlighted that critics who once labeled the Dangote Refinery as “unlicensed” and “inferior” are now taken aback by the refinery’s commencement of processing 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day at the Lagos-based facility.

“A few weeks ago, ‘they’ called Dangote Refinery ‘unlicensed’ and ‘inferior’. You clapped.

“We said a $15 billion investment should be appreciated. We tweeted about MALTA, you denied.

“Today, Dangote Refinery is here, you are slithering to claim it,” Aja stated.

This development coincides with the announcement by Dangote Group President, Aliko Dangote, who officially declared on Tuesday that petrol production has begun at his refinery. He noted that this marks the end of prolonged fuel queues and imports in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has raised the petrol pump price to N897 per liter from N617.
