Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has revealed that she has frozen her eggs as a precaution in case she decides to expand her family in the future. In an interview with Zeze Mills, the singer—who welcomed her first child at 34—said she wishes she had undergone the procedure earlier. She believes it provides an “insurance” that gives one more flexibility and control over fertility.

Tiwa also used the opportunity to advise women in their 30s—whether they want children now or not—to consider egg freezing due to the unpredictability of “egg reserves” as one ages. She emphasized that becoming a mother later in life was beautiful for her, given that she had reached greater emotional and financial stability by then.
