Veteran Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has responded with grace and clarity to a fan’s disappointment over her role in Wumi Toriola’s new film, Konge 3, emphasizing the importance of differentiating real life from scripted characters.
A long-time admirer of Mosun Filani shared on social media that her view of the actress changed after seeing her portrayal in Konge 3. The fan wrote:
“I really like you, but from the day I watched Konge, I have a different perspective about you.”
Mosun’s Response
In a composed and candid reply, Mosun explained that she was merely fulfilling her duties as an actress:
“Haaa, na movie o. If I no act well, na una go complain. I did a good job, now una don dey hate me.”
She also clarified that her character in the film is fictional and not a reflection of her personal life:
“It’s a MOVIE! I got the script, got into character, and delivered perfectly for your enjoyment. That’s why it’s called MAKE BELIEVE! … Watch the movie, learn from it, and move on. Don’t hate on the actors.”
