The 8th Kaduna International Film Festival (KADIFF), themed “Film for Social Change”, has revealed a lineup of 168 films selected from over 2,000 submissions coming in from more than 50 countries—including India, the US, France, Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, Russia, Finland, Tunisia, Ghana, and others.

– A 9-member jury shortlisted 168 films spanning 15 countries, with Uganda leading in volume for the third year—followed by strong showings from Nigeria, Kenya, India, France, Russia, and others.

Event Highlights

– Dates & venues: Running from August 26 to 30, 2025, primary events will be held at Silverbird Cinema, Galaxy Mall, with side events at Stonghelge Hotel and guided tours to local attractions like Arewa House, Zazzau Emirate, Fifth Chukker Polo Resort, and the Kaduna Museum.

– Youth empowerment: A key initiative includes a skills acquisition programme for 200 youths, offering training in areas like pizza-making, yoghurt & custard production, palm oil processing, and paint making. Participants will receive starter kits to launch their enterprises.

– Short film contest: In collaboration with Lipton, KADIFF is hosting a short film challenge inviting contributions of family or breakfast-themed stories under 10 minutes. Winners will be revealed during the closing ceremony.
