Nigerian dance legend and wellness pioneer Kafayat Shafau, best known as Kaffy, has commemorated her remarkable 25-year performance milestone in Lagos with an exciting announcement: the establishment of Kaffy Incorporated, her new corporate umbrella.
At a press conference held in Lagos, Kaffy unveiled the full structure of Kaffy Incorporated, which now includes:
• Kaffy Kreative Agency
• Kaffy Boss Academy
• IJODA Wellness
• Cue Network Africa
• Yanga Clothing & Costumes
• The Kaffy Foundation
She further introduced the inaugural Transform With Kaffy holistic wellness event, taking place on August 9 at the Landmark Event Centre. This program will celebrate fitness, mental health, and spiritual well-being.
Reflecting on her journey, Kaffy emphasized the need for more structured business models within Nigeria’s creative industries, stating:
“We’ve always had talent, but the business structure that allows creatives to evolve and scale is missing. That’s what we’re fixing.”
Her move highlights sustained self-investment: over 80% of her brand’s growth has been funded personally, as she urged greater investment and collaboration to bolster the creative economy.
Highlights from the event included appearances by fitness coach Kemen, Aproko Doctor, Big Fit CEO Akinpelu Gbenga Olalekan, and music executive Oduwa.
Kaffy began her career as a fitness instructor at the National Stadium and propelled to worldwide recognition after breaking the Guinness World Record for “Longest Dance Party” in 2006. With the launch of Kaffy Incorporated, she’s now formalizing her expertise into a suite of integrated creative and wellness services.
