Former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and APC Deputy Governorship Candidate in the 2023 elections, has expressed his strong support for Barr. Francis Obigbor as the Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.
In a statement released on Sunday, Osanebi condemned the alleged appointment of Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Senatorial Chairman for Delta Central, as the acting chairman. He labeled the move a “clear violation of the APC constitution” and an “assault on our party’s democratic foundations.”
Osanebi reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the party’s constitution and acknowledged Obigbor, the Deputy Chairman, as the legitimate leader to guide the party in Delta State. He praised Obigbor’s leadership and expressed confidence that he would excel in this new role.
“His leadership and dedication to our party are commendable, and I have no doubt he will excel in this new role,” Osanebi said, urging APC members, especially from the Ndokwa Nation, to unite behind Obigbor. He emphasized the need for collaboration as the party aims to secure victory in the 2027 elections and establish an APC government in Delta State.
This endorsement comes amid internal debates within the Delta State APC, as the party navigates crucial leadership decisions. Osanebi’s support for Obigbor positions him as a unifying figure for the party, with a call for adherence to constitutional principles and unity.
