Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has voiced his disappointment over the omission of Rodrygo from the 30-man shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Rodrygo was notably absent from the list, which was released last month. Speaking to the media on Friday, Ancelotti emphasized the Brazilian’s significance to the team.

“For sure, Rodrygo should have been among the nominees for the Ballon d’Or, no doubt,” Ancelotti stated. “I understand his sadness; he’s right. For me, he’s an important player, and there are zero problems.”

Despite Rodrygo’s exclusion, Real Madrid still has a strong presence in the Ballon d’Or nominations, with Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham among the favorites.
