Several leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State.
The defectors, from Auga, Ikakumo, and Akoko areas, cited their support for PDP’s gubernatorial candidate, Agboola Ajayi, as their primary reason for leaving the APC.
In a video shared on X late Tuesday, the PDP hailed the defection as a significant boost to Ajayi’s gubernatorial campaign. The party stated, “A large number of APC members from Auga, Ikakumo, and Akoko have joined the PDP. The defectors, including key leaders and loyalists, expressed their commitment to supporting a leader who genuinely cares for the people’s welfare.”
The PDP emphasized that this mass defection reflects the growing support for Agboola Ajayi and the party in Ondo State. It also signals a rejection of the APC’s policies and a desire for positive change.
