Aisha Yesufu Slams Former LP Chairman Abure for Alleged Lies About Party Funds

Aisha Yesufu, a prominent social critic, has called out former Labour Party (LP) National Chairman, Julius Abure, for allegedly lying about the party’s presidential campaign funds. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Yesufu accused Abure of making false claims without fear of being fact-checked.

Abure had recently claimed that Yesufu and Pastor Itua Ighodalo managed the funds for LP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, asserting that the party had no control over the accounts set up for donations. He stated that Yesufu and Ighodalo were the sole signatories to these accounts and that the party’s primary focus was on winning the election, not managing funds.

Yesufu responded by exposing an old 2022 post by Abure, in which he had urged supporters to donate a minimum of N1,000 to the Labour Party’s account, contradicting his recent statements. She criticized Abure, remarking that he still behaves like it’s “1980,” when one could lie without being easily fact-checked.
