Maduka Okoye has emphasized the crucial need for the Super Eagles to secure a win in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Benin Republic. The encounter will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.

The Super Eagles, who have won only one of their last five matches, are determined to start their qualifying campaign on a strong note. Okoye, the Udinese goalkeeper, stressed the importance of the match, stating, “It’s important we win because this is an important AFCON qualifier. We have to be at our best and play at our highest level.”

He further highlighted that the primary focus is securing the victory, which is vital for both the team and the country. “What is most important is the victory for the team and for Nigeria,” Okoye added.
