ADC Chairman Criticizes APC Government’s Disregard for Youths

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has sharply criticized President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as increasingly ineffective and accusing the Nigerian government of neglecting its youth.

Chief Ralph Nwosu, the National Chairman of ADC, made these comments during the inauguration of the ADC Youth Council in Abuja. He lamented that while other countries are actively engaging their youth through sports and targeted policies, the current administration seems more interested in suppressing young people and squandering national resources on luxuries.

“We are supposed to be under a Renewed Hope Agenda, but where are the tangible outcomes? What progress has been made by the economic team, the Aviation Minister, or the tourism sector? Everything seems to be falling apart,” Nwosu remarked.

He emphasized that over 70 percent of Nigeria’s population comprises young people, yet the APC government appears indifferent to their needs and contributions. Nwosu highlighted that despite Nigeria’s GDP of about $200 million, several global companies founded by young entrepreneurs—such as Apple, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft—generate annual revenues in the trillions.

In contrast to Saudi Arabia’s clear strategic vision demonstrated by the privatization of its state-owned oil company, Nigeria, according to Nwosu, remains directionless. He praised the ADC Youth Council’s potential to ignite progress not only within Nigeria but across Africa with their innovative ideas.
