Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has called for a peaceful protest demanding justice for the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad. Fabiyi is urging the public to attend the upcoming court date for the ongoing coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death to make their voices heard.

Fabiyi emphasized that if no significant progress is made during this visit to the coroner’s inquest, they will shift their focus to the first anniversary of Mohbad’s death as an opportunity to renew their call for justice. He stated, “Let us unite in one voice to achieve this goal and find closure. IGNORE OR DELETE NEGATIVE VIBES; this is social media. Not every comment should be seen as an authentic public opinion. Some are mere distractions.”

He encouraged supporters to peacefully attend the next coroner inquest and protest to demand action on the case. If nothing substantial emerges, he suggested that they redirect their efforts toward the one-year anniversary of Mohbad’s passing.

However, Mohbad’s family has opposed plans to mark the musician’s first anniversary. In a statement signed by Monisola Odumosu, a member of the family’s legal team, the family urged organizations and individuals planning to celebrate Mohbad’s anniversary to suspend their ideas. The family expressed their desire to mourn in peace, stating that they do not wish to reopen old wounds. They also raised concerns that some might attempt to use Mohbad’s memory for commercial purposes.
