The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is offering a 50% discount to drivers interested in converting their vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) using the newly launched MY-CNG App.

Mr. Khalil Halilu, NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, revealed the discount during the launch of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative’s Conversion Incentive Programme. The event took place on Saturday at NASENI’s CNG Engineering, Training, and Conversion facility in Utako, Abuja.

The launch was attended by Ekperipe Ekpo, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), among other dignitaries. Halilu highlighted the importance of the Pi-CNG initiative in Nigeria’s energy landscape, noting its rapid adoption and relevance.

“We recently inaugurated this comprehensive CNG facility in collaboration with Portland and Dana Motors. The Conversion Incentive Programme targets the rideshare sector, including Uber and Bolt drivers, providing a 50% discount for those who register through the MY-CNG App,” Halilu said.

He emphasized that CNG is a cleaner and more economical fuel option, capable of cutting transportation costs by up to 70% and offering 40% savings for vehicle owners. The initiative aims to address current economic challenges and offer a practical solution for reducing living costs in Nigeria.
