Federal lawmaker Alhassan Doguwa from Kano State has expressed his commitment to securing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. Doguwa has formally requested to be appointed as the director-general for the APC’s 2027 campaign in Kano State.

Doguwa made this appeal in Abuja on Sunday, responding to recent comments by fellow lawmaker Abdulmumini Jibrin, who had labeled him as a potential threat to the party’s prospects in Kano and described him as a political liability.

“I respectfully urge the party leadership to consider me for the role of campaign director-general for Kano State in 2027,” Doguwa stated. “Contrary to claims, I am not a liability; rather, I am a valuable asset and a point of pride for the APC, both locally and nationally.”

The News Agency of Nigeria notes that Doguwa is the sole APC representative from Kano South Senatorial District in the House of Representatives.
