Adams Oshiomhole has criticized Asue Ighodalo’s electability, stating that he lacks the ability to speak his native language and alleging that Ighodalo was unable to stay in his village due to fears of witches and wizards. Oshiomhole claimed that Edo voters have become more discerning.

Regarding Philip Shaibu’s defection back to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oshiomhole confirmed that Shaibu has been reintegrated into the party after a reconciliation. Oshiomhole noted that Shaibu had apologized and sought forgiveness, which he granted, expressing hope that Shaibu has learned from the experience. However, Oshiomhole emphasized that trust in Shaibu’s future loyalty would be tested over time.
