A severe accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway resulted in the death of an unidentified driver on Tuesday.

According to Ogun State police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, the crash involved a truck carrying granite, with the license plate FKJ760XM, and a Toyota car registered as JJJ926YJ. Both vehicles were en route from Ibadan to Lagos when the Toyota lost control and struck the truck.

Odutola reported that the driver of the Toyota was trapped in the wreckage and, despite being transported to Idera Hospital in Sagamu, was pronounced dead by medical staff.

Two other passengers in the Toyota sustained various injuries.
