The All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged security operatives to safeguard lives and property amid the #EndBadGovernance protests. The appeal, conveyed by the Zamfara Publicity Secretary Yusuf Idris on Thursday, follows reports of violent incidents targeting APC members and their properties.
Idris expressed concern over the protests, claiming that thugs were deployed to attack APC figures and damage their properties. He specifically mentioned an attempted attack on former Governor Bello Matawalle’s residence, recalling a similar burglary in 2023. The APC commended the swift action of security forces that prevented further destruction.
Idris also reported that Senator Sahabi Yau’s residence in Kaura Namoda was attacked, with thugs damaging valuables and a vehicle. He urged security agencies to protect all citizens and called on youths to refrain from being manipulated by malicious actors.
The APC emphasized that the protests, which are a constitutional right, should remain peaceful and not pose any threat to life and property.
