**Burna Boy Passes ‘African Giant’ Title to Falz Amidst ‘End Bad Governance’ Protest**

Burna Boy, known for his influential music and global success, has previously embraced the title of “African Giant” due to his prominence in the music industry and his alignment with Afrobeat legends like Fela Kuti. His songs often encourage resistance against oppression.

However, Burna Boy, who is usually not outspoken on Nigerian political issues, sparked a reaction with his recent comment on the ongoing nationwide protest. On his X page, he wrote: “The fight in me Died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around,” which led to a mixed response from his followers.

One user criticized him, saying: “Oga shutup.. Because they did you bad doesn’t mean you give up. You taught us to keep fighting in your songs but now you’re here capping nonsense.”

Burna Boy replied, “I taught you to keep fighting your oppressors but you chose to fight me.”

Another comment questioned his commitment, stating: “Because you want to ghost and you call yourself African Giant.”

In response to the ongoing protests and seeming appreciation for Falz’s activism, Burna Boy declared on X: “I don hand am over to Falz bros,” signifying that Falz is now the “African Giant” in his view.

The “End Bad Governance in Nigeria” protests continue nationwide, with reports of casualties in several states.
